See what a good fit looks like.
This is the flange-fitting guide I use with parents. We can talk through how it relates to your own pumping experience.
If pumping feels uncomfortable or frustrating, finding a better fit can help. I’ll take time to understand what you need, explore your options and help you express with more confidence.
Talk to me about pumping
Many pumps come with a standard 24–26mm flange, but that doesn’t suit everyone. The right size and shape depend on your individual anatomy. I’ll look at your current fit and pump. Together, we can trial flange sizes and shapes and explore settings and suction to find a comfortable combination.
Using a hospital-grade breast pump, I can trial a wide range of flange sizes and shapes with you. We can also discuss whether your current pump is suitable. After the fitting, I’ll share links so you can order the size and shape we recommend directly from a supplier. This is a focused fitting appointment, rather than a feeding assessment.
Compatibility varies between makes and models. In-bra and wearable pumps are excluded from flange-fitting trials, although I can recommend an insert.

A flange that is too large, too small or the wrong shape can contribute to discomfort, nipple or breast trauma and inefficient milk removal.
A well-fitting flange can help make expressing more comfortable and efficient, and help you feel more confident in your routine.
However you use your pump, I’ll focus on finding a flange shape and size that feels right and discussing the pump you use.
A fit suited to regular pumping.
A flange fitting for expressing when your baby cannot latch.
A practical fit for pumping at work.
A comfortable fit when expressing for top-ups.
A fit that works for the way you pump.
We can discuss whether your current pump meets your needs.
We’ll focus on flange shape and size, comfort, pump compatibility and settings. I’ll explain which flange to order and share a link to buy it separately. For feeding concerns or milk-supply support, please ask about an infant feeding appointment.
